Speaker's Bio:

Gurwinder was born and raised in Edmonton. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Alberta.

After graduation, Gurwinder worked 5 years as an auditor with the Canada Revenue Agency. During this period he was responsible for sole-proprietorship and corporate business audits in the Edmonton and surrounding area including northern Alberta.

He then decided to transition into public practice and began articling out of a medium-sized CA firm in the lower mainland that specializes in cross-border taxation. Here, Gurwinder quickly moved up and became the senior Canadian tax accountant for the firm. Gurwinder gained tremendous exposure to estate taxes for high net worth individuals and cross-border tax issues facing businesses. Gurwinder then moved on to work for a large national firm on the international tax team for three years and then subsequently went on to become a manager at a local chartered accounting firm. As manager he established the U.S. tax preparation services for the firm and was responsible in developing a half a dozen new CPAs. In 2017, Gurwinder established S Group Chartered Professional Accountants, A full services CPA firm that specializes in providing advance tax and accounting services at cost effective rates. He specializes in working with bookkeepers and other professionals on providing their clients tax preparation, tax planning and business advisory services. Currently Gurwinder is now pursuing his U.S. CPA designation.

Dining out with food allergies can be a challenge, but it can be done safely. The best way to stay safe is by being informed and communicating your needs.

Before you go: ‘Be Informed and Inform’. We recommend contacting the restaurant ahead of time and talking to the restaurant manager or Kitchen manager.

At the Restaurant: ‘Communicate’. Talk to the server upon arriving and also to the IPBC regional network chair and explain your food allergies.

Block out time on your calendar for this event right now. Why? Just imagine networking with some of the top bookkeepers in the country. Imagine the chance to be on the fast track to a more lucrative practice, to being a certified professional bookkeeper (CPB) and to receiving greater professional recognition inside and outside of this network.

Regional Meetings are a vital part of that formula for success.

They're a unique chance to combine learning – a guest speaker shares expertise that's sure to make your work a bit easier – with fun and powerful networking.

Attending this meeting qualifies for one Professional Development Credit

Each meeting includes a guest speaker with a Q&A session; a discussion among the attendees about a marketing topic, a challenge someone may be facing, or another topic important to you; and networking. Non-members are welcome to attend two meetings to evaluate IPBC. Afterwards, you must join to participate in Regional Meetings.

Our meetings are "Scent Free” and business casual attire is appreciated. This is a business meeting. Please, turn off your cell phone before entering the room, and sorry no children allowed.

We look forward to seeing you there!
