The Private Health Services Plan and Its Benefits For Your Corporate Clients

Presented by:  Roy Olney, Cost Efficient Benefit Plan

The private health services plan (PHSP) is a tax effective means of providing health and dental benefits for small and medium sized businesses; an inexpensive way for incorporated employers and sole proprietors to provide tax free health and dental services for themselves and their dependents, their employees and their dependents.   Cost Efficient Benefit Plan enables the business owner to pay for health and dental expenses through his/her business instead of paying for them personally.  Roy will discuss the history of the PHSP, how the plan works as a tax saving vehicle and a benefit for both the business and the business owner.  You can link to the website here:

Presenter's Bio:

Roy began this service in August 2000 as a one-man extension of R.P. Olney Insurance Services. He later combined the PHSP business with Dottie Olney's under the name of Paloma Ventures Ltd. (o/a Cost Efficient Benefit Plan).  Initially with help from his son, a friend, Dottie and later his sister, it has grown over the years to a staff of seven in the Calgary office and remote sales marketing reps in Ontario, BC and Northern Alberta.

Roy's background is in life insurance sales since the mid 1970's; Dottie's was in Land Administration in the Oil & Gas Industry from 1974 through 2004, first as an employee and later as a consultant.  The business has grown from a small side income to a staff of ten.

Roy's role as an owner is overall management, direction and marketing; Dottie, also an owner, is bookkeeper and management on a part time basis.  Both are committed to providing accurate and speedy service to our clients and stability for our employees.

Regional Developer: Linda Gail Poole, CPB

Cost of the meeting is free.  You are responsible for your own meal and beverage

Dining out with food allergies can be a challenge, but it can be done safely. The best way to stay safe is by being informed and communicating your needs.

Before you go: ‘Be Informed and Inform’. We recommend contacting the restaurant ahead of time and talking to the restaurant manager or Kitchen manager.

At the Restaurant: ‘Communicate’. Talk to the server upon arriving and also to the IPBC regional network chair and explain your food allergies.

Block out time on your calendar for this event right now. Why? Just imagine networking with some of the top bookkeepers in the country. Imagine the chance to be on the fast track to a more lucrative practice, to being a certified professional bookkeeper (CPB) and to receiving greater professional recognition inside and outside of this network.

Regional Meetings are a vital part of that formula for success.

They're a unique chance to combine learning – a guest speaker shares expertise that's sure to make your work a bit easier – with fun and powerful networking.

Attending this meeting qualifies for one Professional Development Credit

Each meeting includes a guest speaker with a Q&A session; a discussion among the attendees about a marketing topic, a challenge someone may be facing, or another topic important to you; and networking. Non-members are welcome to attend two meetings to evaluate IPBC. Afterwards, you must join to participate in Regional Meetings.

Our meetings are "Scent Free” and business casual attire is appreciated. This is a business meeting. Please, turn off your cell phone before entering the room, and sorry no children allowed.

We look forward to seeing you there!
