has been employed by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) in various positions for
over 14 years. Currently, he is a senior technical interpretation analyst in
the GST/HST Rulings section. In this role, he analyzes how the GST/HST applies
to an organization’s general activities or to specific transactions and issues
written rulings or general interpretation letters for taxpayers and
his current role, Bill was a team leader in the Audit Division of the CRA for almost
8 years where he managed a team of auditors specializing in the underground or
"under-the-table” economy. During this time, he served as the Underground
Economy Audit Coordinator for the Vancouver Tax Services Office. He also has
experience as a field auditor conducting examinations of small businesses’
books and records.
a bachelor’s degree in accounting and two diplomas in financial management and
marketing from the BC Institute of Technology. He is a recipient of the Queen’s
Golden Jubilee Medal for outstanding public service and is a nominee, as part
of an outreach team, for the CRA’s prestigious national Award of Distinction.
