Ed Kless joined Sage North America in July of 2003 and is currently the senior director of partner development and strategy. He develops and delivers curriculum for Sage business partners on the art and practice of small business consulting including the Sage Consulting Academy, Business Strategy and Customer Experience Workshops. He also facilitates the Sage Leadership Academy, a year-long program designed to assist Sage Software partners develop a continuous process of improvement in their organizations and serves as liaison to the Sage Leadership Academy Alumni Association.
Steven Van Alstine
Steven Van Alstine is Vice-President of Education at the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) and is considered one of Canada's foremost subject matter experts in Canadian payroll legislation, training and education. Steven oversees the CPA’s Certification program which have in excess of 12,000 individual course registrations per year with collectively over 10,000 Payroll Compliance Practitioner’s (PCP’s) and Certified Payroll Manager’s (CPM’s).
James Rhodes started his career as a tax lawyer first clerking for the Tax Court of Canada (‘TCC’). He then continued on to work at KPMG, and then Department of Justice where he was counsel on over one hundred appeals. Following this he has worked at Miller Thomson LLP, and now operates as TaxationLawyers.
Jeff has a Bachelor's degrees from the University of Ottawa (Social Sciences) and the University of Calgary (Commerce). After articling with Deloitte & Touche in the Calgary Owner Managed Enterprises office he received his designation as a Chartered Accountant in 1992. He then worked for five years for Chevron Canada Resources and another two for Northstar Energy (now Devon) mostly in the tax departments.
Silvia Jacinto joined Crowe Soberman’s Tax Group as a senior manager in 2011. Formerly, she worked for both global and regional professional service firms. Having practiced in different environments, and with clients from several industries, Silvia has insight into a wide range of subjects. Silvia is specifically knowledgeable of tax issues relating to real estate.

Frédéric Pansieri is a director of Commodity Taxes, joining Crowe Soberman in 2006 from Symcor Inc. where for four years he was in charge of tax compliance. Though he came from industry, Frédéric is not a stranger to public practice and worked for a public accounting firm in Quebec where he managed corporate and personal income tax matters.
