IPBC members in good standing with at least 2 years of verifiable bookkeeping
experience qualify to take the CPBTM exam.
IPBC Members who HAVE NOT taken the CPBTM exam and who would like
to become CPBTM Certified must register on the IPBC website at least 5 business days prior to your exam date.
The $225 exam registration fee includes a download of the new Exam Prep Guide. Members must be signed into the IPBC website to
complete the exam registration process.
Your on-line exam registration serves as your confirmation and agreement to
abide by the CPBTM Exam Guidelines & Terms and Conditions, as outlined below.
Terms & Conditions
registering for your exam on the IPBC website you may schedule your 2 hour exam
appointment at either an Academy of Learning Center or a Certified Accountant's
office, as long as they are not your employer. To find an Academy of Learning

Invigilation fees are paid directly to the location where you take the exam and be paid to your facilitator prior to the exam. The Academy of Learning
charges IPBC Member's $40 - $60 for this service.
You should arrive at the exam location at least 15 minutes before your scheduled exam

on Company letterhead and state that you have at least 2 years of bookkeeping
experience and include a brief description of your bookkeeping duties.
the IPBC receives the signed invigilation papers from your facilitator and your letter of reference
the Exam Coordinator will confirm your exam appointment with you via
the day of your exam, the invigilator will set you up on their office
computer and load the exam webpage provided to them by the IPBC and they are responsible to oversee your
exam during the 2 hour time limit. You will be required to sign into the IPBC website to start the exam.
No cell phones, hand bags, purses etc. are permitted in your possession during
the exam. Only a calculator and pen and paper will be allowed into the exam. Any
papers brought into the exam must be left behind; you cannot take notes away
The CPBTM exams are copyright protected and are the property of the IPBC, any
attempt to copy, transfer or share any part of the exam will result in legal
action and expulsion from the organization.
Cheating is a violation of our code of ethics and if you are caught using any
device to assist in the exam including access to the internet will
automatically result in a fail and suspension of your membership pending an
investigation from our ethics committee.
passing grade is 75% or 56 correct answers out of 75. You will see your exam
results on the monitor within minutes of submitting your answers. The IPBC does not provide the questions and/or answers you answered correct or incorrect on the exam, you will receive an e-mail notifying you of your mark.
passing the exam you will receive your CPBTM certificate within four - six weeks
and will be entitled to use the CPB logo representing your CPBTM - Certified
Professional Bookkeeper certification that can be downloaded from the CPBTM
the event you do not pass the exam on your first attempt, you must wait at least 30 days before scheduling your retake exam and pay
the $175 exam registration fee. In the event you do not pass the exam on your second attempt, there is a 90 day waiting period.
