(effective August 14th 2014)
passing the CPBTM exam, Certified Professional Bookkeepers are required to
maintain our high standards through continuing professional education. They
must acquire 20 (CECs) each year - or
40 credits over a consecutive 2 year period - based on the anniversary date of
the last CPBTM certification exam passed.
It is Mandatory to record
the courses/classes that you attend, and upload documentation for the credits
you are claiming, into your IPBC Member Profile (under the Professional
Development section). Should you be audited, you will need to prove the number
of hours of Continuing Education Credits you are claiming for each year.
Credits may be earned through various options, including: a local college course, seminars, webinars,
conferences, or one of the many IPBC sponsors sessions. (see list of CEC examples)

Unsure if a course qualifies for CE credit? Submit a CE Request Form to firstname.lastname@example.org or fax to (604)637-9615.
Failure to meet CEC requirements
may result in the loss of your CPBTM certification and only
CPB’s in good standing are permitted use of the exclusive CPBTM logo.
