Ethics, Regulations, and Tips on Employee Tracking, with Kreg MacPhee and Brad Rogeau of PayTickr

In this session we will discuss the rules surrounding tracking of employees by companies in Canada, including time tracking, location tracking, and facial recognition. This will include a look at the different ways technology can empower this tracking in a manner that respects both the privacy of the employee and the needs of the employer. We will also provide a brief demo of these tracking technologies in PayTickr and how they can be used to enhance the time tracking and payroll process.

Speaker Bios: Kreg MacPhee is the CEO and co-founder of PayTickr, as well as the owner of a large area mowing company in Red Deer and Calgary. The needs of this mowing company formed the genesis of PayTickr, and he will discuss his experiences using the tracking components of the system with the employees of his mowing company. Brad Rougeau is the CTO and co-founder of PayTickr. As the developer primarily responsible for implementing the location tracking of PayTickr, he will speak to the technical aspects and regulations surrounding employee tracking on mobile devices.

Company Profile: PayTickr is a cloud-based service that easily manages time and location tracking, as well as automating payroll and government remittances for businesses on the go. PayTickr's time and location tracking allows employers to check where their employees are during their shift, when they punched in and out, and supports advanced features such as multiple hourly wages, changing tasks mid-shift, and paid/unpaid breaks. PayTickr's payroll system includes automatic overtime calculations, stat holiday pay calculations, and custom deductions and benefits. PayTickr provides integration with Telpay to provide direct deposit of all wages and remittances, and integration with QuickBooks to export timesheets and/or journal entries. Using PayTickr, many small mobile companies have seen their average payroll runs drop from 4 hours to 20 minutes.

Block out time on your calendar for this event right now. Why? Just imagine networking with some of the top bookkeepers in the country. Imagine the chance to be on the fast track to a more lucrative practice, to being a certified professional bookkeeper (CPB) and to receiving greater professional recognition inside and outside of this network.

Regional Meetings are a vital part of that formula for success. They're a unique chance to combine learning – a guest speaker shares expertise that's sure to make your work a bit easier – with fun and powerful networking.

Each meeting includes a guest speaker with a Q&A session; a discussion among the attendees about a marketing topic, a challenge someone may be facing, or another topic important to you; and networking. Non-members are welcome to attend three meetings to evaluate IPBC. Afterwards, you must join to participate in Regional Meetings.

Our meetings are "Scent Free” and business casual attire is appreciated. This is a business meeting. Please, turn off your cell phone before entering the room, and sorry no children allowed.

We look forward to seeing you there!
