CRA Updates

Presented by: Bill Poon

Non-Profit organization ≠ YOU ARE NOT A CHARITY

Do you know most of your revenue streams are taxable?

Are you unsure about the percentage of rebates you can claim?

Do you know the tax status of your purchases changes with change in your operations?

Being audited is stressful and time consuming, learn how to maintain your books and records to get the most out of your GST returns and minimize the burden of a large assessment from CRA.

Bill Poon has been working for the CRA for the last 20 years and has extensive experience in GST/HST legislation as it applies to public sector bodies. During this webinar, he will cover topic such as:

  • The tax status of different revenue streams for non-profit organizations
  • Eligibility to claim ITCs (100% credit on GST paid out for expenses)
  • Criteria to meet in order to be eligible for rebates that will help non-profit organization’s with their funding
  • Common errors found during audits that lead to large assessments in this sector

Regional Network Chair: Connie Sparks, CPB

Cost is free - You are responsible for your own meal and beverage

Dining out with food allergies can be a challenge, but it can be done safely. The best way to stay safe is by being informed and communicating your needs.

Before you go: ‘Be Informed and Inform’.
We recommend contacting the restaurant ahead of time and talking to the restaurant manager or Kitchen manager.

At the Restaurant: ‘Communicate’.
Talk to your server upon arriving and to the Regional Network Chair to advise them of your food allergies.

Block out time on your calendar for this event right now. Why? Just imagine networking with some of the top bookkeepers in the country. Imagine the chance to be on the fast track to a more lucrative practice, to being a certified professional bookkeeper (CPB) and to receiving greater professional recognition inside and outside of this network.

Regional Meetings are a vital part of that formula for success.

They're a unique chance to combine learning – a guest speaker shares expertise that's sure to make your work a bit easier – with fun and powerful networking.

Attending this meeting qualifies for one Professional Development Credit

Each meeting includes a guest speaker with a Q&A session; a discussion among the attendees about a marketing topic, a challenge someone may be facing, or another topic important to you; and networking. Non-members are welcome to attend two meetings to evaluate IPBC. Afterwards, you must join to participate in Regional Meetings.

Our meetings are "Scent Free” and business casual attire is appreciated. This is a business meeting. Please, turn off your cell phone before entering the room, and sorry no children allowed.

We look forward to seeing you there!
