Streamlining Bookkeeping Efficiencies with Xero

Katherine Hawkin's Bio: Born and raised in Toronto, Katherine made the moved to Winnipeg where she then started her career working for one of the big 4 firms for seven years. She then relocated to Calgary and started her own bookkeeping and consulting firm and has continued to do so for the past 19 years.  Passionate about providing the same support systems for small business that larger corporations enjoy, Katherine has endeavored to provide clients with the proper tools to obtain accurate financial information in as efficient a manner as possible. Katherine remains operating her practice but has recently joined the Xero team as a Partner Consultant, where she continues to assist, educate and support our Xero partners on their journey.

Gregg Simpson's Bio: After a 15 year career working with companies like IBM and large oil and gas firms, Gregg made the transition to running his own small startup, then found his calling working with Xero. An account manager, his unwavering commitment to making the lives of accountants, bookkeepers and small business owners better, shines through. Used to working with big clunky accounting & ERP systems, Xero is breath of fresh air for a guy always looking for a more efficient way to do things.

Regional Network Chair (RNC) Dawn Ross, CPB

Attending this meeting qualifies for one Professional Development Credit

Cost of the meeting is free; however, you are responsible for your own meal and beverage

Dining out with food allergies can be a challenge, but it can be done safely. The best way to stay safe is by being informed and communicating your needs.

Before you go: ‘Be Informed and Inform’. We recommend contacting the restaurant ahead of time and talking to the restaurant manager or Kitchen manager.

At the Restaurant: ‘Communicate’. Talk to the server and your RNC upon arriving and advise them of your food allergies.

Block out time on your calendar for this event right now. Why? Just imagine networking with some of the top bookkeepers in the country. Imagine the chance to be on the fast track to a more lucrative practice, to being a certified professional bookkeeper (CPB) and to receiving greater professional recognition inside and outside of this network.

Regional Meetings are a vital part of that formula for success. They're a unique chance to combine learning – a guest speaker shares expertise that's sure to make your work a bit easier – with fun and powerful networking.

Each meeting includes a guest speaker with a Q&A session; a discussion among the attendees about a marketing topic, a challenge someone may be facing, or another topic important to you; and networking. Non-members are welcome to attend three meetings to evaluate IPBC. Afterwards, you must join to participate in Regional Meetings.

Our meetings are "Scent Free” and business casual attire is appreciated. This is a business meeting. Please, turn off your cell phone before entering the room, and sorry no children allowed.

We look forward to seeing you there!
