The Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada (IPBC) has appointed
Valoree McKay, CAE as Chief Executive Officer

TORONTO – The Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada (IPBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Valoree McKay, CAE as its Chief Executive Officer.

McKay is a highly accomplished, bilingual, senior executive in association management with twenty years of experience. Most recently, as Executive Director for the Canadian Library Association, she has just concluded a review of CLA’s organizational structure and developed a concept for the future structure and focus of a national library association. She successfully brought together stakeholders to take ownership and redefine the national association’s value model in partnership with CLA’s Executive Council.

Her experience leading a national certifying body, in addition to her ten plus years working with certifying bodies, will be an asset to IPBC as it moves forward in achieving its strategic goals around certification of the profession and promotion of IPBC certification as the gold standard in Canada.

“Valoree’s strong leadership and operational abilities, as well as her people first approach, will move the IPBC forward,” said Dianne Mueller, FCPB, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Valoree has a clear passion for the aims and objectives of the IPBC.”

The Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada (IPBC) was created by bookkeepers to help other bookkeepers become more successful and gain better recognition within the bookkeeping profession. IPBC provides the environment, knowledge, and resources its members need to develop excellence in bookkeeping, through certification, education, networking, advocacy, information and research. It’s focus as Canada's largest non-profit bookkeeping association, is to create member value and benefits, that in turn contribute to creating a stronger trust relationship with Canadian business. The IPBC Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) designation is recognized as the Gold Standard in certifying bookkeepers in Canada.

“It will be my privilege to represent the interests of, and advocate on behalf of, members of the IPBC,” says McKay. “My primary focus will be to execute IPBC’s strategic plan, as developed by the Board of Directors, and to ensure that the IPBC is providing the highest possible level of service to it’s members.”

Valoree officially joins the IPBC on June 22, 2017, and will be based in Ottawa, ON. For further information, please contact Dianne Mueller FCPB. She can be reached at dianne@ipbc.ca

The IPBC is dedicated to developing greater educational excellence,
