Maintaining CPB Certification

Upon successfully passing the Tier 4 CPB
TM exam, Certified Professional Bookkeepers are required to maintain our high standards through continuing professional education. CPB's must acquire 20 Continuing Education Credits(CECs) each year based on the anniversary date of the last CPBTM certification exam passed.

It is mandatory to record a journal entry for courses/classes that you attend, and upload documentation for the credits you are claiming, into your IPBC Member Profile - Professional Development. Should you be audited, you will need to prove the number of hours of CEC's you are claiming each year. Credits may be earned through various options, including: college courses, seminars, webinars, conferences, and IPBC events. (list of CEC examples

If you are unsure if a course qualifies for CE credits please submit a  CEC Request Form to info@ipbc.ca
or fax the completed form to (604)637-9615. You will receive an email within 7 business days with the Accreditation Committee decision.

Failure to meet the CEC requirement may result in the loss of your CPBTM certification, only 

CPB members in good standing are permitted use of the exclusive CPBTM logo.
