Valoree McKay, CAE - Chief Executive Officer

Valoree is a highly accomplished, bilingual, senior executive in association management with twenty years of experience. Most recently, as Executive Director for the Canadian Library Association, she has just concluded a review of CLA’s organizational structure and developed a concept for the future structure and focus of a national library association. She successfully brought together stakeholders to take ownership and redefine the national association’s value model in partnership with CLA’s Executive Council.

Her experience leading a national certifying body, in addition to her ten plus years working with certifying bodies, will be an asset to IPBC as it moves forward in achieving its strategic goals around certification of the profession and promotion of IPBC certification as the gold standard in Canada.

   

Sarah Alvarado - Manager, Marketing, Communications & Brand

A communications specialist and strategic planning expert, Sarah is a creative thinker with extensive project management experience. She joined the IPBC team in March 2018 as the Manager, Marketing & Communications and brings her skills to help enhance communications and drive innovation at the IPBC.

Sarah has a passion for storytelling and relishes the challenge of taking complicated topics and creating messaging that is clear, digestible and engaging for target audiences. She has extensive experience leading brand marketing, web design, and strategic planning initiatives and is excited to join the IPBC team.

Her diverse professional background includes healthcare communications, multimedia production for learning products and programs, and client education for sourcing, hiring and integrating internationally educated professionals. She holds a degree in health sciences and has professional training in knowledge translation, project management, and leadership.

Anita Andriash - Senior Administrator & Events Coordinator

Anita has extensive experience as a high-level hands-on executive manager in the corporate world and as a high-tech business owner. She has earned numerous achievement awards for her creative management style and sales abilities over the years.

Since joining the IPBC team in June 2010 in a membership sales and support role she quickly learned to wear many hats. As the Senior Administrator, Anita is the "Go To Gal" when it comes to trouble-shooting & implementation; she has the experience, knowledge, understanding, and foresight to manage all aspects of the IPBC membership platform. 

Anita is also responsible for managing the annual conferences and maintaining the website. She thoroughly enjoys providing support to the membership and thrives on administrative challenges and taking on special projects at the IPBC.

Jeff Caverly, CPB - Controller, Finance & Administration

Jeff joined the team of the IPBC in the position of Controller in June 2015, after having volunteered on the IPBC’s Board of Directors in the capacity of Treasurer for just under 2 years.

Jeff’s wealth of bookkeeping/accounting and management experience began in 1984, straight out of high school, gaining 20 years of experience, having progressed from junior through to management level accounting positions with some of Canada’s largest telecommunications providers.

Subsequently transitioning to small business entrepreneurship, and a bookkeeping and advisory services practice of his own, Jeff obtained his Certified Professional Bookkeeper CPB designation early in 2013.

Being a bookkeeping/accounting professional himself, Jeff has extensive and very relevant experience with respect to the challenges the members of the IPBC, and their clients, face on a daily basis.

  Riann Kempt, Administrative & Marketing Coordinator

Riann is a high-energy, passionate, creative, and detail-oriented self-starter. She has a passion for entrepreneurship, event management, web design, and brand management and has excelled in administrative, coordinating, brand ambassador, and team lead roles where she has led innovative and impactful marketing strategies.

She has experience in a wide variety of industries including government, banking, education, and not-for-profit sectors where she has strengthened her attention to detail, communication, and ability to adapt to diverse work environments and situations.

Riann’s educational background includes business entrepreneurship, event management, and brand management and she’s pursued additional training in graphic design, web design, and photo editing. In her spare time she enjoys volunteering for various charities including the United Way, Dreams Take Flight, and the Children’s Wish Foundation.

Meagan Rockett - Membership & Certifications Coordinator 

Meagan has been active in the association space since 2005. With a keen interest in member engagement and research, it's her mission to help associations better engage their communities. 

To stay on top of insights into association trends, Meagan has been a member of several industry associations including CSAE, PCMA, and CanSPEP.  She was recently recognized as a “Top 40 Under 40” by Connect Association for making an early mark in the association industry.

Meagan is currently applying her knowledge to membership and certification at IPBC, and provides administrative support to the IPBC team.
